I’ve been seeing several posts about depression lately. And I’m quite glad that people are talking about it now and more people are becoming aware of it. This is not me getting on the bandwagon and ‘sensationalizing’ the issue. In fact, these posts remind me of a situation I’ve gone through before.. I was on the other side. I tried to understand, support, listen and to be present in the best way that I can. But I knew I couldn’t do anything else. It’s THAT real.
I’m still going through similar situations up to this day, and all the more it’s making me believe that if you’re the one suffering, it’s you who decide whether you drown in it or save yourself from it. You determine your own outlook and perspective in life. This is my personal opinion and for me this is the main lesson. We can’t fix anyone but ourselves.
Not trying to pressure here, but just be kind to yourself. Don’t compare yourself or your life to others. Help yourself out and always choose what’s right – to rise above it and LIVE.
It might be easy for me to say this and I know it’s not easy to do, but I believe you can do it one day.
Please know that you are important.
You are not a hopeless case.
You are not a burden.
You are worthy and loved.
There’s nothing wrong with being broken, feeling down, weak or hurt sometimes.. there’s nothing wrong with crying. You just gotta believe that YOU’LL GET THROUGH THIS. You can and you will.
I am sorry for the times when I tried to help but it just made things worse and sorry for the times you felt you were ignored.
I hope you can see and feel that there are people around you who care for you and won’t judge you. Others may find it difficult to understand at first but still, open up to them. Seek help. It’s okay. And most importantly, you can always, ALWAYS bring your worries to God through prayer, and leave it to Him.
‘There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.’
I pray you find that light 🌻
